What I was feeling when Gatsby and I went to get lunch in New York


Hi everyone! I am happy to say Gatsby and I have been talking more and becoming better friends. One July morning he invited me to have lunch with him in New York. I was excited to go out to eat with him and have the chance to get to know each other more since we did not have the chance to talk a lot at his party. In the car ride to lunch Gatsby randomly brings up what Jordan was telling me about at Gatsby’s party. I was caught off guard, was confused at first, and really did not know what to thin or say to him. However, Gatsby told me he wanted to clear his past so I would not think of him differently from all of the rumors that were going around about him. At this time, I almost felt a sense of relief because is showed a lot about Gatsby and the person he is. It made me feel that he could actually become a good friend, I was also happy we got the rumors straightened out. We continued on our drive to lunch talking about how Gatsby was born into a wealthy Midwest family. Gatsby shared some interesting things about himself to me like his family tradition, where he studied, where he was born, and more. He was instantly pulled over for a speeding ticket but quickly let go. I was very excited to arrive at lunch; we really seemed to have a lot in common, which was a good thing.

Why I had to leave New York

After my dear friend Gatsby passed away, life has not been the same. I was very upset and frustrated that no one attended his funeral. After his passing people continued to talk down about him and threw shame on him. When I came to New York Gatsby and I grew very close and ended up spending a lot of time together. He was an amazing person inside and out. I truly knew him unlike most of the people that were talking poorly about him. It made me sick just hearing people make up lies about my good friend Gatsby.
