Why I moved to West Egg, Long Island


Hi everyone! My name is Nick Carraway and I am from the Midwest. I was a solider in World War 1, which was a very tragic time. However, after thinking long and hard, I decided I wanted to take the opportunity and move somewhere more developed hoping to start and life that is more successful. My life out West was not awful but I was always looking to be better. By moving, I was hoping I would eventually become a well-rounded man. With that being said, I moved to West Egg, Long Island. This moved was a big step in my life, but it was for the best for me to grow as a person. I wanted to relive some of the fun and adventure as solider in World War 1 so that was another fact on why I moved. When I first moved to West Egg, Long Island I found a small house next to this huge amazing mansion so I decided to rent the small house. I wanted to be a bond salesperson and I was determined on becoming one. Making money, being smart and successful was one of my main goals in life. Since I was living in such a nice community, I got the chance to meet some of the coolest people who ended up becoming some of my closest friends. I was hoping Long Island would make me a better person, give me the chance to grow and develop to getting a good job, making great friends, and living an overall happy life.

Why I had to leave New York

After my dear friend Gatsby passed away, life has not been the same. I was very upset and frustrated that no one attended his funeral. After his passing people continued to talk down about him and threw shame on him. When I came to New York Gatsby and I grew very close and ended up spending a lot of time together. He was an amazing person inside and out. I truly knew him unlike most of the people that were talking poorly about him. It made me sick just hearing people make up lies about my good friend Gatsby. When he passed away, I felt somewhat lost not having him in my life. It did not seem right to be living in Long Island, New York without him being alive.
